Summer Time Fun!

Oh my favorite times is arriving...summertime with my boys.

                                                                

Last summer Christian starting swimming all by himself. He was like a little fish in the water. Not long after he learned Bryson was born, school started back, and the weather started to turn cooler. I was so nervous that he was going to forget and we would have to start all over again when summer came around.

 

I was wrong.  It took a few minutes for him to warm back up to the water.  Once he was warmed up, he was ready to go.  He was swimming under water, jumping off the diving board, diving for sticks, etc.  It was like no time had gone by...he was once a little fish in the water.

 

 

 

 

 

Bryson on the other hand was not impressed with the water.  I am sure it was because it was FREEZING.  When Shaun put him in the water he started crying...real tears.  After a few seconds, he got use to it and would be okay.  Poor thing. 

 

 



 

He may not have been impressed with the water but he was surely impressed with the play toys that go in the pool.  He could not have been happier sitting beside me and play with some toys. 

 

 

Summer time fun.  I can't wait for more memories.

 

T-Ball (Chicken Shack)

This year Christian played baseball with Lexington Dixie Youth. He played t-ball for the Chicken Shack. It was a great year. Christian really grew as a ball player. I was such a proud momma standing on the first base sidelines cheering for my baby. I hope that he continues to play for a really long time.

9 months

When I was growing up, I remember telling my mom that I could not believe that she had all these pictures for my sister. She did not have nearly the same amount of pictures for me. It was just so unfair. I remember saying I would not be like that when I had kids. BOY, was I ever wrong. Poor Bryson does not have nearly the same amount of pictures as Christian does. Nor does he get the same amount of blog time that Christian has gotten. What is it about the second child?  Oh well. He may not have the same amount of camera time but he is surely loved the same. This house would not be the same without him in it. I remember saying after Christian was born that I did not know what I did with all my "free" time. Now, I ask myself..."what did I do before...period?"

Weight: 18.62 lbs (31st %tile)
Height:  28.75 in. (68th %tile)
Head circumference:   17 in (7th %tile)  
Size of clothes: 6 to 9 months
Size of diapers: 3.
Eat: You are eating stage 2 baby food.  You are not really picky; however, that first bit always makes your nose turn up.  You are eating three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) along with bottles (6 ozs).  You are also starting to hold the bottle all by yourself.  When I bring it to you, you get a huge smile and hold those hands out.  Mrs. Kim said that you were saying boh, boh, the other day when you saw your bottle.       
# of wake ups at night: Zero wake ups at night.  You are starting to sleep a little later anywhere from 7:00 to 7:30ish. 
Health: Your health has been good. You have had another ear infection that we are now on your second dose of meds for.  We got some great news a few weeks ago about your heart.  The hold between the aorta has closed up on its own.  I am so happy and thank God everyday for this.  The cardiologist wants to see you back when you are 2 just to do a follow up and make sure that it has closed 100%.  God is good and certainly answers prayers. 
Milestones: You are growing like a weed.  You are still sitting up but there is no crawling yet.  You just do not want to do it.  When I put you on your hands and knees you sit there for a while.  Then you sprawl out and flip over onto your back.  Not sure if it is going to happen or not.  You are starting to stand up and hold on to things without support but we certainly can't be far away.  There are still lots of tumbles.  Who knows, you may not crawl and just start walking.  You are starting to do a little bit of talking.  If we are counting first words I think that you said bah, bah (bye-bye) first.  Then it was mah, mah (momma, momma).  You could not have made me happier.  Still no da da but we will not brag...ha.  You are also clapping those hands like crazy.  When I clap, you clap.  It is so cute.  You have your two bottom front teeth.  You chew on EVERYTHING because of it.  You are just growing up to fast for mommy.  Slow down.   
Doesn't Likes: I can honestly say that I can not think of anything that you don't like. You are a very happy baby.
Loves: You love to be talked to.  You laugh and laugh at your brother.  I hope that your connect last a life time.  You love to play with anything that you can get your hands on.  The other day I found you playing with Christian's shoe...YUCK!  You also love to sit in the sun and play while we watch your brother play baseball.  Swinging is a a lot of fun too.  One of my favorite things to watch you do is your crunches.  When you lay on the floor you will roll over to your back and then crunch up.  You are going to have the best ab muscles around.     
Smiles when: You are certainly a very personable baby. You will go to anyone and give them a great big smile. However, you are starting to get a little big shy.  You throw those hands together and then cover up your eyes.  It is so funny.      
Recent trips: It is almost summertime and I will be out of work for the summer.  I can't wait because our travel time will being.  We are starting with the beach in 8 days.  I just can't wait.  We are starting to go on boat rides as well.  Last weekend we went out twice and you had the best time.  You were such a great sport.

Easter Dying Fun!

Each year dying Easter eggs get more and more fun. He is really starting to get the hand of it. Last year he did not really want to dye them, so this year I only made 8 hard boiled eggs. However, this year he wanted to make more and more and more.  He is really into Angry Birds, so our Easter eggs are Angry Bird eggs, so much fun.

Baseball

I am so excited. This is my favorite time of year. Do you know why? I get to watch my little monkey man play baseball. Last year he played baseball for the YMCA. It was so cute but a little overwhelming.  The children were running around like little ants.  There was no organization. 

This year he is playing for Lexington Dixie Youth.  It is totally different.  The children know 1.)where they must stand, 2.)that you don't move unless the ball comes to you, and 3.)to try and get the runner out at first.  They also get to have the coach pitch to them 3 times.  If they don't hit it then they get the tee.  It is so much fun and so cute to watch these little ones play ball. 

Another thing about this year...is I am not pregnant in the heat (oh wait there has been no heat, yet).
 

 

Christian has grown a lot these last few weeks as a player as well.  There were many times when he would cry because he did not get the ball.  He has really learned to share and pay attention because the ball may come to him.  I can't wait until he is older and I get to watch him in serious action.  However, right now I am loving it because he is so darn cute.  Check out my little monkey man in action now...

 

 

 Don't forget that you have to sit and play in the sand at this age.  It is a requirement...ha.

 

Shaun just happens to be Christian coach again this year.  I think he is loving baseball life just as much as Christian does.  However, you want find him out there playing in the sand or wearing his baseball socks up his thighs.  He is a great coach (must be he played ball from Christian's age to college) and very patient with the children.

7 Months Old

I just can not believe that you are 7 months old already. I thought that Christian grew up fast, but you are growing up right before my eyes. Here are all your stats for 7 months.

Weight: We don't know for sure but daddy weighted you the other night and you were about 18 lbs, give or take.
Height:  Not sure your height right now. 
Head circumference:   Not sure about your head circumference either. 
Size of clothes: 6 to 9 months  
Size of diapers: 3. 
Eat: You are beginning to eat almost anything that we give you.  For a while you were real picky and would not eat for me.  However, all of that has changed.  Guess you just had to get used to it.  There are a couple of foods that you still do not like...green beans and peaches.  You only eat once or twice a day.  However you are still getting your bottle.  You are so funny when you see that I have the bottle in my hand.  You get so excited because you know it is eating time.      
# of wake ups at night:  Zero wake ups at night.  You do want to get up are 6:30ish but if you are happy go lucky, I keep you there until 7:00.  You are just a happy baby.  You can sit in your crib and talk/ laugh at yourself. 
Health: Your health has been good. Still don't know about your heart and if the hole has closed up. We are waiting for the doctor to make the referral so we can go get it checked.  I am very anxious to see if it has closed up or if it is still there.  This weather has been a little crazy, so we are having a hard time getting rid of the stuffy noses. 
Milestones: Not to many milestones happened this month.  You are still sitting up and getting better and better.  You have rolled stomach to back a couple of time but sometimes when you get on your stomach you cry because you don't want to be there.  Sometimes you will solve it yourself and other times I have to roll you back over.  You have started taking a bath in your special duck bath.  You sure do love it, just like Christian did.    
Doesn't Likes: I can honestly say that I can not think of anything that you don't like. You are a very happy baby.
Loves: You still love to be talked to. When someone talks to you, you light up. It just melts my heart. You also love to be tickled, to fly through the air, to play in your exersaucer, and play with your big brother. You certainly think he is sooooooooooooo funny.
Smiles when: ALL the time.  Unless you are hungry or tired.     
Recent trips: No special trips; however, we did go Easter egg hunting at the park.  You got your picture taken with the Easter bunny.
