Dr. Appointment

Tuesday was my second doctor's appointment. I was filled with excitement and nervousness all at the same time. I don't remember being so nervous when Christian was in my belly (at the beginning). Maybe because I was so naive about the whole situation. However, things quickly changed when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and put on bed rest because my fluid was low. With Little Bit, I find myself being nervous with every move, feeling, and type of food that I eat.

The doctors want to monitor Little Bit closer, so Tuesday I had my glucose testing. I was so nervous about the outcome. As I was sitting there while the nurse was taking my blood. I was breathing deep and praying for a good result. Then all of a sudden she told me that they would call me Wednesday with the results...WHAT?!?

Wednesday morning when I woke up I was nervous all over again. When would they call? What would they tell me? Would I have to start the special diet? Would I have to do shots this time? Everything that I could think of was going though my head.

You know that feeling you get when something has you nervous or excited...those butterflies in your stomach or your stomach dropping like you just jumped out of an airplane? Well, that was me all day long. Every time my phone rang in my classroom, I froze for a second, walked to the phone, and then answered "Mrs. Spivey." Finally after 3 phone calls to my room today the fourth one was the doctor's office.

I am happy to report that I am free of gestational diabetes (so far). I think when the nurse told me I did a little shout out. Thank you Lord for this wonderful news. I just hope that everything else goes smoothly, even if I continue to have these nervous feelings.

We also got to hear Little Bit's heartbeat. It was beating at a strong and steady 160. I thought that I would share it with you...
