Bath Time

Oh bath time can be such a pleasure and a chore at the same time. Pleasure because it allows Bryson to get so tired that he sleeps a little longer for me at night (I know I am thinking about myself). Chore because Bryson gets so worked up that he cries and cries and cries. All the crying makes me feel bad so I bathe him quickly.

Last week was Bryson's first bath. I remember giving Christian his first bath at home. It took four hands. Yes, four hands. Two to bathe him and two to hold him. This go round it only took two hands. I think I was feeling a little more brave then I was with Christian (first time mommies always do things a little different).  I was expecting him to scream and cry a whole lot when I put him in the bath. However, he did not (at first). He laid there and looked all around at the ceiling. Then it happened...there it was. When I started dripping water on him, he started crying. Oh, how bad that makes me feel.  So, of course, a quick bath it was.

I know that one day he will love his bath time just like Christian.  They will have baths together and play for a while.  Christian calls this a "long" bath.  Let's just hope that Bryson is not the splasher like Christian is.
