New News
I have not posted in a while and WOW how things have changed in the last month. About three weeks ago, I was diagnosed as a gestational diabetic. This means that my body isn't able to use the sugar (glucose) in my blood as well as it should, so the level of sugar in my blood becomes higher than normal. I am on a strict diet that is regulated by my doctor, I give myself 4 glucose tests in order to check my blood sugar levels, and I am on insulin shots 3 times a day in order to help control my blood sugar levels. That is right; I poke and stick myself 7 times a day. However, it is for Christian and I so that we can stay healthy. I would poke and stick myself 1 million times a day if I had to. Last Wednesday (Oct. 22nd), I went to the doctor for an ultrasound and a check up. This check up was to make sure things were going well with Christian and me. While I was there, my doctor told me that due to being a gestational diabetic there are some complications that could occur. Christian could be a big baby and that the placenta and amniotic fluid could start to deteriorate due to taking insulin. Of course, Shaun and I prayed that things would work out and everything would be okay. Well, I went back yesterday (Oct. 28th) for another ultrasound and check up. Things were not going as we had planned. The amniotic fluid around Christian is starting to deteriorate. Due to this complication, I am on bed rest until further notice. I go back to the doctor on Friday for another ultrasound and check up to see if the bed rest and drinking plenty of fluids is helping to rebuild the amniotic fluid. If so, then I can (hopefully) go back to work (part time). If not, I will continue to stay on bed rest until further notice. Please keep Shaun, Christian, and I in your thoughts and prayers. We hope the amniotic fluid will rebuild itself back up so that I can go back to work and keep Christian in the womb until 37 weeks. I am 33 weeks as of this week, so the count down is on.

You can do it, girl! Keep drinking those fluids and don't get up for anything. I know you look around and see things that you THINK need to be done. I also know you are an extremely hard worker and you think you need to be there. But, the most important thing you can do is take care of yourself and that precious baby boy. Travis, Morgan Kate and I will be praying for you, Shaun, and Baby Christian each and every day! You can do it! We love you - Heather
Take care of yourself, drink lots and rest as much as you can. Matt and I are praying for all 3 of you. We can't wait to meet Christian, lots of love coming to you.

The most important thing for you to do is follow your doctor's orders to the letter! Hang in there. I'll be praying for you. Don't worry about school...it's not going anywhere and we'll all be there when you get back :).
