So, when do things get better?

Today was another one of those days when I ask myself…”Are things really going to get better like everyone keeps telling me.” It all started about 3 this morning. Christian decided that he was not crazy about the whole eating thing (with me of course). This drifted over to the 6 o’clock feeding and then the 9 o’clock feeding. Finally around 12 o’clock he decided…”Hey you know this stuff is pretty good. I need to latch on!” REALLY  Of course, when we have days were we are struggling with the feedings it gets me all upset. So, yes I did cry today…a lot. Once again “When will it get better?” I sometimes feel like I am depriving him of food when he does not latch on and screams to the top of his lungs because he cannot get any food in his tiny tummy. Poor Shaun gets so frustrated with me because when I get upset, it gets Christian more upset (he feeds off o f my feelings). He keeps telling me…”Just relax.” Sometimes that is easier said than done but I understand where he is coming from. Since this afternoon things have been a lot better.
Today we had some newborn pictures made of Christian and Picture People in the mall. What an experience! When we got there Christian was sleeping so quietly and peacefully. It was wonderful. However, right when it was time to take his pictures he started to scream bloody murder. It was so much fun. We had to stop and feed him and then continue. We took a few pictures and then it was fussy time again. We stopped and ate a little more and then we continued. Christian did not like his mom and dad very much today. Shaun and I thought “Oh, these are going to be great pictures but they actually turned out to be awesome. Here are some of the pictures that we took…

We also took some Christmas pictures of him and Carmen (my sister’s little girl) on Sunday. They were too cute. Of course, Carmen has that silly grin, but how cute are they together. She told me that night that she wanted to find a new best friend. I told her that Christian could be her best friend. She told me no because her was a baby and she needed a best friend that was older. Sorry Christian! However, she sure does love him even if they can’t be best friends.

Donna,
I love the new pictures! They are too cute! Things will get better. Just be patient. I know that is easier said than done. I was so glad to see you at school this week. I am going to try to come and visit next week (when we have a break from school). Call me if I can do anything for you.

Girl, we have had quite a time, haven't we? First, our little ones decide to come early and now they both don't want to eat. Ha! I wish I could offer some advice or tips, but I am still trying to figure it all out myself. I just keep telling myself, "It won't be like this for long."

I LOVE the pictures! ADORABLE!! I can't wait to meet Christian in person. Please keep updating the blog - I love reading!

Hang in there! Please know that all three of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

It does get better! You will both get used to the nursing. Hang in there! I promise it gets much better. You'll even be able to talk on the phone while nursing :).
It was so good to see you this week! Have a Merry Christmas!
