Olympian

When I was Christian's age, my uncle had a pool in his backyard. We went over there and swam a lot. I don't remember much of this memory but my mom has told me many, many times growing up. You see, my uncle passes away when I was 3. However, before he passed we were swimming at his house and I jumped off the diving board and swam to the side of the pool all by myself. What a big girl I was. He was so proud of me just like my mom was.
Well, today I got that feeling...proud, SUPER excited, overwhelmed with joy, etc. Christian and I went swimming at my mom's tonight while Shaun was working. We have been practicing our swimming with Christian but lately we have been very slack and have just thrown swimmies on him. He is always good at asking for his swimmies but tonight he wanted to swim without them. So I said "Okay but stay in the shallow water where you can touch." Before I knew it, Christian had his goggles on, his face under, and swimming all by himself around the shallow end. I just could not believe it. After a couple of times swimming back and forth to Omah and me, he decided that he wanted to swim across the pool. So, with Omah and me right beside him he swam from one side of the pool to the other all by himself (he did have to stop a couple of time to get a breath but went right back under).

I could not be happier. He asked if he could have a metal (guess the Olympics have gotten to him too). So here is his homemade metal made with LOVE.

(Wish I would have taken a picture or video of him swimming, but leave it up to me not to have my camera at a Kodak moment.)
