Then reality sets in. You are actually at your child's Christmas performance and he is standing in front of the crowd, holding the jingle bells in his mouth, singing his little heart out (at the parts of the song that he wants to sing), staring at the little girl beside him, waving to his mommy recording him, picking his nose a little bit, standing there staring into space, chewing on his shirt, etc. Oh, and there is no Christmas shirt because it is dirty. So, this is how a real Christmas performance really happens.
